Chernigov is located on the banks of the river Desna and there are several city beaches in Chernigov. It is possible there to take rest in summer and to enjoy coolness of the river water in a hot sunny day.
There are also recreation departments in Chernigov.
Recreation department “Himik” (a chemist) gives advantages of a cheerful and comfortable rest at the river. It is located on the left coast of the river Desna, at behind the foot-bridge. “Himik” gives accessible, productive leisure on fresh air any season. Braziers, skewers, and also cauldrons for making fish-soup are given to having a rest in using. The recreation department has three heated halls, tents, and terrace with a view on the river.
There is also hire of sports things: badminton, darts, balls, table tennis, skis. In the summer on a beach the trampoline works.
