The Kharkov zoo was the third one, when it was opened in Russian empire almost two hundreds years ago. The present stage of the zoo, as a Ukrainian Zoo of Kharkov began since 1995 when in a zoo a stage of stabilization has come, and then rulers of Kharkov had accepted “the Program of updating and development of the Kharkov zoo in 1998-2002”. Through the Kharkov Botanical garden and the Park in the name of M. Gorkij the rope-way stretches. The in Kharkov has been constructed in 1971. Its route passes from station “Gorpark” through the Park named after M. Gorkij and Sarzhin ravine up to the station “Pavlovo pole”. General extent of a line is 1387 meters. It is possible to see in Kharkov near to the Historical Museum the English tank Mk V of the World War I. This tank had come in Russian Imperia during the years of the civil war of the begging of the 20 century, possibly in 1920 as the help of Triple Entente to the army of Denikin and Vrangel’. The tank is a very rare specimen. No more than five similar tanks are on the territory of the former Soviet Union.

The Uspenskii cathedral has been built in XVIII century. The Cathedral of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin – is a building of the most ancient orthodox temple of Kharkov named after Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. Since XVII century it was several times reconstructed. The bell-tower of a cathedral of XIX century at the moment of construction was one of the highest in Russia (above the main bell-tower of Empire - Ivan Velikogo in Moscow), now is the highest in the Kharkov diocese, and one of the highest in Ukraine, and prior to the beginning of XXI century was the highest stone building in city. The cathedral is located in city centre on the University hill on the coast of the river Lopan’. The block occupied with the cathedral, is limited by University Street and Kvitki-Osnovjanenko Street.
The Church of Truncate of the Head of John the Baptist has been constructed by architect A.Ton, in the middle of XIX century, on the territory of the park Molodezhniy. On the existing city orthodox cemetery that is situated on city pasture, after closing on May, 25, 1803 Mironositskiy cemetery, has been started the church, under the plan of the architect Tone, on May, 25 1845 and has been built in 50th years was so unsuccessful, that after the ending its arch and a dome have fallen, nearly not having knocked down people leaving church ». Construction has renewed and has stopped only in 1857. The church has been consecrated by Right Reverend Innocent Borisov. Except for the main throne, were southern - in honor of Vissarion (a temple of the 6th of June) and northern - in honor of Dmitry Solunskogo (a temple of the 26th of October). The Trehsvyatitiel’skaya church is more known, as “The Gol’dberovskaya church”. The Trehsvyatitiel’skaya church is an orthodox temple in Kharkov on the street of Pervoy konnoy armii has been built in 1907-1915 because of initiative of the chairman of the City merchant society of a merchant of the first guild of Grigory Osipovich Golberg and his spouse Maria on their own area. The temple is named in the name of three orthodox Prelates: Vasiliay Velikogo, Grigory Bogoslov and John Zlatoust. After revolution of 1917 the Trehsvyatitiel’skaya church in 1923 have transformed into a warehouse where have taken church property from the closed temples. But in 1925 the church managed to be opened again. During short time it has won the big popularity of the townsmen. The saved archival documents about activity of the Church stopped by 1929, but it is known, that the church continued to work until pre-military years. The service in it, renewed in 1941, preceded and during Great Domestic war when Kharkov has been occupied by fascists aggressors. Official registration of a temple has taken place in 1944.
It is possible to visit in Kharkov a scientific - educational museum of sexual cultures of the world which is created by employees of faculty of sexology and medical psychology of the Kharkov medical academy of post-diploma educations. To your attention materials which display sexual cultures of peoples of Europe, Africa, America, India, China and Japan from ancient times up to the present are shown. The Gallery “Academy” is located in the Kharkov state Academy of Design and Arts. The Kharkov historical museum is the regional scientific-methodical center, has one of the greatest in Ukraine collection of exhibits, almost 250 thousand specimens.
