HOW TO DRIVE TO KHARKOV
Kharkov is a large transport junction (railways and highways, the international airport). In Kharkov the ramified network of public transport works: a fixed-route taxi, buses, trolley buses, trams. Since 1975 Metro works.
Kharkov Metro includes 3 lines with 28 stations and has length of 35,6 km. Kharkov Metro today is the very complicated complex of the numerous engineering constructions providing high-speed safe movement of trains and mass transportations of passengers. Daily Metro use about 800 thousand people, and from the beginning of exploitation by electric trains of Metro highways it is transported more than 6 billion passengers.

Kharkov International airport serves Kharkov and the Kharkov region. It is located in the city. For last years the collective of the airport successfully served many types of planes, and has brought large contribution to development of civil aircraft of the country. In 1995 reconstruction of the airport has been made. Kharkov tram depot has been opened on July, 3, 1906. Today the tram depot management belongs to Kharkov municipal enterprise “Gorelectrotrans”.

The southern railway is one of the oldest railways of Ukraine. The length of it makes more than 3000 km., the length of the main ways makes over 4000 km. The geographical position and a configuration of directions and sites of the railway determine its big transit value. The railway provides transport service of the Kharkov region with a mining industry, a machinery-producing industry and an agriculture, it is six regions with the population about 20 million person. Auto station ¹1 “Bus station” is the central auto station of Kharkov. Through it pass the majority of long-distance bus routes. It is situated near to the Metro station “Prospect Gagarina”. There are several directions from the Kharkov bus station: International - West-European, Kursk, Voronezh, Rostov, and Kishinev; Long-distance - Poltava, Ivano-Frankovsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Donetsk, Lugansk; Inside of Kharkov region – Krasnograd, Izum, Balakleya, Kupyansk.
