Nikolaev is situated on the junction of two rivers Southern Bug and Ingul. General length of a coastline in Nikolaev is about 128 km, and in this coastline people can bath practically everywhere. However in Nikolaev for long years exists only two official beaches - Strela (Arrow) and Priboy (Surf), these beaches have showers with clean water, cubicles for changing clothes, the physician, management of a beach and an equipped saving posts.

In Nikolaev are six traditional places for rest. In the Central area it is beaches Strela (Arrow) and Priboy (Surf), and also boat station Locomotive in Solyanye. In the Zavodskoy district it is regional yacht-club and a zone of rest in Namyv. In the Korabel'nyi district it is a beach thatis stretching from street Olshantsev up to Novostroynoy.
