SIMFEROPOL BEACHES, SUMMER REST IN SIMFEROPOL, UKRAINE

Simferopol is located in the central part of Crime, far from sea coast. So, the only beach near Simferopol is a beach of the Simferopol storage pond. Natives call this artificial pond “our Simferopol Sea”. It is one of the largest artificial reservoirs of Crimea, and has been created in 1954.
It is located to the south of Simferopol and has the extended form. The reservoir supplies with water Simferopol and some settlements of this area. It gets water from the river Salgir. Around the reservoir fenced-off area is in which all kinds of economic activities are forbidden.
The reservoir stretches at length for 7 km, at width for 1,5 km.
The Simferopol reservoir has large economic and cultural-improving value for Crimea and first of all for Simferopol. Its waters will be it is irrigated with 10 thousand hectares of fields, gardens and kitchen gardens of the Simferopol and Octyabrskiy district.
